Practical Renewable Energy Storage

With solar energy harvesting being economically competitive to energy production from fossil sources, its further development is hampered by the need for large scale energy storage to cope with the intermittent nature of solar radiation. The goal of the symposium is to inform the audience on the latest developments in practical ready-to-use energy storage.

The symposium will give an overview on the various possibilities to store renewable energy including batteries, heat storage, hydrogen and synthetic fuels. Five speakers from renowned institutions will compare the corresponding advantages, costs, potentials, and scientific bottlenecks of each technology. The talks are accompanied by a poster session for more detailed information and enough time to discuss and exchange information.
